The Galapagos Islands

The Galapagos Islands are one of the most unique areas in the world.  They are part of Ecuador, and are located about 600 miles west of Ecuador's coast.  This archipelago of active volcanic islands offers visitors the chance for close-up views of a wide variety of animals, many found nowhere else in the world.

I booked my tour through Mountain Travel Sobek, and had the pleasure of traveling on the 16-passenger boat Sagitta, owned by Galapagos-based Andando Tours. I highly recommend these companies to anyone considering a visit to this very special place.
